Letter from Commodore Chris Marcheselli
Dear MYC Friends & Families,
What a winter we have had! With each new storm, the anticipation for a warm and happy Megansett summer only grows. Just a few months to go.
It was great seeing so many of you at the Annual MYC Wachusett weekend. We enjoyed superb ski conditions, lots of laughs, and amazing hospitality. On behalf of all those who attended, I want to thank the Crowley and Stimpson families. A weekend of wonderful family memories is truly made possible by their generosity.
With spring quickly approaching, we are making good strides in assembling our MYC staff. We are pleased to announce that several of our dedicated employees, including Will Fothergill, our Club Steward, will be returning. We also have a few new additions including, Grace Connelly, who has recently accepted the Director of Sailing position. As a former Wild Harbor instructor and sailor, Grace is knowledgeable, responsible, and extremely excited to nurture and improve the MYC sailing experience.
With that said, we anticipate another great year for the sailing program. Within the next 2 weeks, all MYC sailing families will receive a complete sailing registration package via e-mail. It will include such items as: class descriptions, schedules, fees, and equipment requirements. Kindly complete and mail along with your tuition check to Carolan Blackwood by June 1st. She will confirm your child's class days and times upon receipt. Any MYC family not having participated in the sailing program in prior years, simply send an e-mail request to calblackwood@comcast.net and a package will be forwarded to you.
Over the winter, we have continued to improve the debit system for the snack bar with the help of our technology master Bob Quinn. We are anticipating our most efficient summer yet. Please stop by the snack bar on or around opening day to fund your account. Families who are frequent users of the snack bar are encouraged to make a minimum deposit of $100 so that we do not incur too many negative balances throughout the season. Your account number is noted on your membership invoice and is also available at the snack bar.
Also enclosed is your 2011 invoice. Your remittance by May 1st is truly appreciated. If you plan not to return to MYC this summer and are resigning your membership, please let us know as soon as possible by mail/e-mail. The club's e-mail address is mycmegansett@gmail.com.
Finally, be sure to include any changes to your contact information, especially your e-mail address. We look forward to seeing you all at the 2011 Opening Party.
