MYC Youth Sailing - Optimus
We have two Opti programs at MYC,
both of which require sailors to have their own boat.
Opti 1 (minimum age 10) At first, beginners will sail two to a boat providing a safe, fun learning experience. A carefully designed plan will outline each day. Games on and off the water will be played to enhance the skill-building. Building confidence and enthusiasm is at the heart of this level. No previous experience is assumed.
Opti 2 This program is a progression of Opti1. Our intention is to provide more advanced boat handling and racing skills so sailors become more competitive in local regattas. This is not sailing boot camp because games will still be used to keep the fun while learning to make the boat go faster. A weekly MYC racing series will be included.
