is for children ages 7 to 18. To those coming to our program for the first time, we extend a special welcome. We hope our new skippers will enjoy the wonderful and challenging sport of sailing. This exciting activity allows our youth to learn and participate each summer in our beautiful Buzzards Bay, compete on their high school and college team, and then beyond for the rest of their lives. Our goal is to promote the sport of sailing, encourage self-reliance, perseverance, responsibility, teamwork, and good character.
Sailor & Parent Meeting: 10am Sunday, June 26th.
Opti boat drop-off & equip check: 10:30 - 1:00 Sunday, June 26th (or drop off with instructors before MYC Opening week).
MYC's Sailing Season: Begins Monday, June 27th.
Other Important Information: |
- All sailors must pass a swim test |
- Life jackets and sailing footweare are required |
- Sailing foul-weather clothes are required on rainy, windy or cool days |
- Opti 2 & 420 sailors must have a watch with a timer |
- A hat & sunglasses are recommended for everyone! |
- Sailors may take Opti and 420 simultaneously |
- Class will be held regardless of the weather! If the conditions are too bad to launch, alternative lessons will be held in the clubhouse area. |
